Anytown, FL – Middle aged, transgender woman, Anita Hootchie, is contemplating moving back to San Francisco, Seattle or New York City where, as she describes it, the local population “knows how to treat a lady with testicles.”
Anita says, “In California it was not an issue, I was unquestionably a woman. Everyone treated me like a woman – whether it was my baker who made me a cake to celebrate my man-o-pause, my hairdresser putting extensions on my head to cover my male pattern baldness or my doctor putting me in stirrups to do my prostate exam. I was 100% woman.”
“But then” she said as her painted eyes opened widely and she clutched her grandmother’s pearl necklace against her hairy chest, “I moved to Florida!”
Trying to maintain her composure, she swallowed hard accentuating the second largest natural bulge on her body – her Adam’s apple. Soon the mascara stained tears were streaming down the five o’clock shadow on her face. Reaching into her bra to pull out a hairy tissue she dabbed her tears and continued.
“Florida is so cruel and unusual! No one holds the door open for me! My hairdresser is more concerned with trimming the hair in my ears and nostrils than making me look pretty! My Gynecologist referred me to a Psychiatrist ! And last week I was escorted out of a Grocery store ladies’ room by gun toting dixie chicks!”
“Why can’t these yahoos accept me for who I really am on the inside?! It’s really getting on my last Y chromosome containing nerve !”
